Tolworth Fight Results 2007
A great day out was had by all (I hope), some results never went our way but that’s kickboxing for you. The important thing is everybody Winner, Runner up or Draw conducted himself or herself respectfully. And by taking part – you are all winners
Holly Taylor: Winner: another convincing win for one of our up and coming young stars.
Ben Vowels: Draw: Very technical fight, massively out pointed his opponent, unfortunately the ref’s decision is final.
Abdullah Dangor: Runner up: First time in the ring for this young man, fought an experienced fighter, did himself proud
Richard Russell: Winner: what can I say, gave his opponent 40 years; they won’t under estimate him again.
Ryan Shearwood: Draw: first timer had a lot bigger opponent, dealt with him really well. I know what my decision would have been.
Arjun Shembi: Winner: Great fight; never stopped going forward, his opponent was glad to hear the bell.
Aman Shembi: Runner up: Another first timer, had to wait right till the end for her fight, still managed to put up a great fight.
Pete Dutton: Draw: Fought a younger opponent, managed to shut down his legs, pulled off a well-earned result with good hand techniques.
John Skeldon: Runner up: Found himself up against a very fast leggy opponent, unfortunately out pointed on the day.
Phil Carter: Draw: one of our top guys fought a cagey fighter, stopped him getting them incredible kicks flowing. Fair result.
Jess Chumber: Runner up: A good first time appearance in the ring, kept going forward unfortunately, never got the result on the day.
Emily Byng: Winner: Ring craft wins fights, and this young lady certainly showed that on the day, a convincing points win.
Mandeep Sura: Winner: started a little too heavy, but once the control was established, annihilated her opponent. Future Champion mark my words.
Jak Ryan: Draw: Another one of those fights, Jak seemed to do everything right but the judges disagreed.
Darryl Jones: Draw/Runner up: First timer and he puts him self forward twice, a young man with great spirit, with heart like that his day will come.
Paul Burt: Runner up: I’m sure we are going to see a lot more of this man, different strategy on the day and the result could easily gone the other way.
Anna Forest: Runner up: back after a long break, the result was a minor glitch for this young lady, great fighter with a big heart.
Ian May: Runner up: I take my hat off to this man, fought a formidable adversary and never once held back.
Richard Green: Draw: His opponent can only be described as a sniper; dangerous counter striker picking his shots, Richard took the fight to him and got a far result.
John Farrelly: Win: A long layoff for this full contact fighter, but he’s back now with a very convincing win. Superior stamina and heart won the day.
Steve Byng: Win: Had the result go against him last year, but with determination and hard training turned it all around, well done Steve, (fighter of the future).
Matt Watt: Runner up: Good first fight for promising young fighter, held his own and put up a good display.
Josh Devey: Winner: Can this kid Box and move, exceptional hands and ring craft, I think we are going to see a lot more of this young man. Great first win.
Alice Beaman: Runner up: Another one of our first timers, very nervous start but soon got into her rhythm. Unfortunately out pointed on the day.
Aneeka Bassi: Draw: This fiery little Pocket Rocket turned a lot of heads in her first fight, great technique and awesome spirit.
Rob Cocks: Runner up: Another first timer gained a lot of experience, maintained a good work rate.
Matt Thomas: Win: This one was all about stamina, equally matched for ability; our man was just too fit.
Ashley Turner: Runner up: Titles aren’t easy to get and the under 16 BKBU British title is held by an exceptional individual. Our man fought valiantly, but on the day it wasn’t to be. Hats off to Ashley he did us proud.
