Kick Boxing Tournament Tolworth:

What a great turn out, all our fighters did Chongshin Do proud - both young and old, especially those that faced the fear of stepping through the ropes for the first time.
Showing impeccable etiquette in both Victory and Defeat. CLICK HERE for the results on the day.
If you contemplated fighting and didn’t, have a chat with some of our first time fighters. You will find they all agree the fear of fighting in the Ring is worse than the reality of it. Everyone is a winner who tries and tests themselves in this way – well done to all.   Remember our club fought ‘Kick-boxers’ who only practice this art week in week out - we however have a great deal more in our syllabus to cover – this in mind you all did a fantastic job.
The Title attempt by Ashley Turner was a hard close fought battle with Ashley learning just how hard it is to become a Title Holder – next time he will do it! – we have many fighters now being looked at for Title challenges – I am sure in the near future we will be holding many Kick-boxing titles within the association.

Full Contact show – we had two fighters from the Bloxwich camp fighting – Steve and Phil – Steve Won his first Full Contact – well done to him – unfortunately Phil Williams met a much taller opponent and was out pointed on the night.

Sensei Steve Pride was refereeing on the day and evening and its easy to see why he is the BKBU’s senior ref – well done to him also for keeping the fights light and controlled.

2nd & 3rd Dan Promotions – Credit where credits due !
Belts presentations are happening this week and it gives me the opportunity to thank some senior members for their continued loyal support, help and guidance.
Sensei’s Richard Green and John Skeldon promoted to 2nd Dan have been a massive help in the running of Sutton and Walsall. They both help out in Instruction and without their help these clubs would suffer – so many thanks to them.
Sensei Gary Taylor was presented his 2nd Dan Belt on Thursday (many years over due in my opinion) – he has brought so much to the Chongshin Do Syllabus, with his extensive knowledge and background in Brazilian jujitsu, and weaponry – I thank him for his massive contribution to this art.
Sensei Steve Pride – what can I say – he has been a rock ever since this Martial Art was formed many years ago. He has become the BKBU’s most senior and professional referee’s and he has given so much in the clubs that its hard to put into words – he now runs his own club in Sutton and this club is going to be one of the biggest with his help and guidance – so thanks to all the Black Belts who continue to help and make this Martial Art of one the Midlands biggest.

Sponsored Spar Money Presentation (Mencap)
This will take place at 6:30 on Wednesday 21st  March, straight after the kids grading at the Delves Club. So try and get a long on that night, we will have a few photos and you never know you might just get your picture in the paper. This year we are donating £660 raised with our sponsored spar – many thanks again to everyone.

Combat Ju Jitsu
Over the next couple of months Gary Taylor intends to push the training for Combat Ju Jitsu, - the tournament will happen soon !!
