TWO
top members achieves their dream and are awarded the prestigious title of Black
Belt

Phil & John Shakes the hands of Instructors and are awarded
their Black BeltTrophies and uniforrms
Congratulations
to Phil and John who were awarded their Black Belts on this event.
Phil Carter who has been training for over four years and John Farrelly who has been trainming over 7 years were both awarded their 1st Dans.
Both started at an electrifiying pace - the panel of Senior Instructors were worried they would not be able to keep up this pace - however they proved their preparation had been very good as they blasted their way through the 5 hour exam.
Whats
in a Chongshin Do Black Belt Grading? Before the exam commenced the candidates
had to write an essay about the human body its systems and how it relates to moves
within Chongshin Do. Then on Saturday it was a grueling 6 hour exam starting at
9am with a written paper containing questions on techniques and the Chongshin
Do syllabus. Then the hard physical exam starting with a two hour Jujitsu
exam taking in all aspects of this art, following this a four our physical test
/ exam on all aspects of the TKD & Kickboxing syllabus including Forms, combinations
from Forms, Sparring (1 on 1, 2 on 1, free sparring, 1 & 2 step) plus kickboxing
drills and finally, exhausted they had to show their true fighting spirit with
a demonstration of their power and technique - breaking many pieces of wood /
boards and a breeze block in a demonstration of power, spirit and skill of their
training. They all performed very well and should be very proud of their performance.
Congratulations from all the Instructors & members of Chongshin Do.
