I started my Martial Art journey in 2002. Initially just looking for a martial art club that could teach my young children how to protect themselves. I looked at many clubs and found Chongshin Do, an organisation that was not bound to one style, and with an open and engaging group of instructors and students.
I turned up to watch a typical class, was invited to give it a try for myself and by the end of class I was knew it was right for both my family and I.
The syllabus is interesting and varied, the instruction is clear, structured and safe.
I progressed through grades, each bringing more challenge. but also resulting in improved technique, confidence and understanding, attaining 1st Dan Black Belt in 2008
I have taken part in competitions, seminars, and exhibitions and achieved 5th Dan Master Grade in 2024.
What started as plan to learn a little self defence evolved into a life changing journey of learning, respect, self control, indomitable spirit and confidence where even now the journey has still not finished.
I currently coach at the Edmund Campion Club in Sutton Coldfield.
