My name is George Georgiou I’m 60 years old.
I have been an active member and student of the Chongshin Do martial arts association for over 8 years..
In December of 2025 I was awarded an instructors accreditation from the association..
Chongshindo is an association incorporating martial arts of Aikido, traditional Ju Jitsu, Brazilian Ju Jitsu and Kick boxing.
You can start at any age..my son started before me at 5 years old.
I found it very interesting seeing my son be a part of this association and ‘got the bug’ and wanted to start myself, my son was a higher grade than me at the time.
The training is amazing from improving fitness to learning how to protect and defend yourself against any form of attack, whether that is striking or grappling.
From my early days I realised it was becoming a passion ,I rarely miss lessons, I train in Walsall at the Blue coat school WS1 2ND on Mondays and Wednesdays , and also help coach the kids classes on the same evenings.
At Edmund Campion school the classes are mixed adults and children’s between 7pm-8.30pm Tuesdays and Thursdays.
There’s also a club at Master Emily’s in Walsall WS3 on a Thursday evening which I teach at occasionally when needed to help out.
My first goal was to become an instructor giving something back for something I’ve learnt myself. It’s what I love doing, as i previously said I'm very passionate about teaching the kids and adults, it really inspires me to push towards my black belt.
There is such lot to learn and your martial arts journey will be enjoyable, fun and deeply fulfilling.
I would recommend anyone to start, what ever age you are.
Enjoy your experience it’s a fabulous learning curve.
Hope to see you at one of our clubs soon.
George.
